High Water in Missouri Affecting KCSR Tracks |
On June 30, The Kansas City Southern Railway Company notified its customers of a main line outage on the Pittsburg Subdivision due to torrential rains elevating waters to rise over a rail bridge over the Little Osage River at milepost 88 between Hume and Eve, Mo. Some trains have been able to pass through the area since that time.
As of this morning, three bridges at mileposts 72.2, 72.7 and 73.2 are now affected by high water from the Marais des Cygnes River. While rainfall has diminished, main line traffic from Amsterdam, Mo. to Hume, Mo. remains at a standstill until waters recede enough to repair the track. Customers will be notified when the main line reopens.
